CLUB ORGANIZATION
The Port City Track Club was established in 2013 with a mission to promote track and field, distance running, and allied events in the city of Wilmington. The Port City Track Club was established by Roderick Bell and Tamika Newsome, two former track college athletes who continue to remain active in participating, coaching and mentoring young kids and adults who still like to run. PCTC accepts runners from 6 and up. Each young athlete on our roster need not be a future Olympian, or even a high school track athlete, to run with us. Quite to the contrary, every young person of any ability is invited and welcome on our team. Every child receives the same level of instruction, care, and attention from our exceptional coaches.  We operate and regard ourselves as a big family. The The Port City Track Club is a volunteer, nonprofit organization. In addition to this, the Club is a member of United States Track and Field and is governed by its rules.

VISION
The vision of the PCTC is to continue to develop our athletes as nationally recognized and highly qualified competitors. We want to expand the level of community participation, build long-term charitable affiliations, and to increase the number and levels of sponsors.

CLUB PHILOSOPHY
The PCTC strives to provide area youth with quality training in the many aspects of the sport. We hope to develop self-discipline, dedication and confidence in each athlete. In club travel, the competitive athletic experience can enhance social development, contribute to mental and physical health and teach the values of teamwork and responsibility.

Overall, the Club wants to foster a lifetime appreciation of track physical fitness and field, individual runner's progress and SPORTSMANSHIP. Our program emphasizes FUN.
